Ntegra Enterprise Task Control (NETC)
ntegra Enterprise Task Control (NETC) automates job scheduling across all enterprise platforms.
NETC is a flexible cross platform enterprise task scheduling tool. By leveraging the highly available capability of the underlying industry standard database (MySQL or Oracle RDBMS), NETC provides a highly fault tolerant working environment without adding further complexity to your existing architecture. NETC allows scheduling of arbitrary tasks across multiple servers with any number of interdependencies. Systems engineers will be able to gain granular control of task loads through the working day to ensure systems are performing the tasks you want at the times you require them to run.
NETC allows for sharing workloads across multiple nodes based on available system resources without manual load balancing.
The benefits of consolidating and automating job scheduling across all enterprise platforms are self-evident – cost savings, efficiency, agility, and availability
NETC Capabilities
- Centrally managed across the enterprise to offer server task controls to support business goals and service levels
- Highly scalable, fault-tolerant server task management software that minimizes idle time and improves throughput
- Use policies for monitoring and managing tasks by exception and create production runtime reports from a single, Web-based operations console
- Trigger batch job and job stream execution based on real-time events and notify users when unusual conditions happen in the infrastructure or batch scheduling activity
- Simplify workload management with workload automation software that provides real-time alerts and user notifications, self-monitoring, self-healing, automated recovery and user-defined event rules for batch jobs scheduling
- Operating systems support - AIX, HP Unix, Linux, Sun Solaris, Windows.
NETC Key features
- Servers are grouped into processing pools – each server can be in multiple pools. Each task or task flow would be assigned a particular pool – any server in that pool could ‘pick up’ a task to process
- Each client is self aware of own capabilities – CPU, memory, disk I/O. This allows each client to balance the number of tasks it performs at any one time
- Each pool has a daily usage profile associated with it – e.g. only allow processing in business hours, only allow processing out of hours, allow unrestricted processing
- Each client runs independently as long as it has access to the database
- Secure communications between client and database
- No limitation on web interface concurrency
- The web interface provides the functionality to control tasks – force run, kill, hold, restart, submit new
- The web interface provides input and output to common document formats –csv, xml, plus native Microsoft Office file formats – Excel, Project and Visio
- Statistical performance data allows tuning to be performed
- Definitions of tasks and task flows will be able to contain standard control options, plus the ability to execute custom dependency / awareness tests
